Original composition is the way to go on this, I think. I'm trying to put something together, but I work slowly and it'll take a few days.
I'm throwing in for solus's theme. That's going into my iTunes library on the playlist named "Playlist of Awesomeness."

I know this is cheesy, but going off DW being a ripoff of IS...perhaps the DW theme is based off the IS theme backwards?

and it is written in the mysterios Aeolian mode - a musical mode that makes you feeling guilty and inconvenient. |

Solus, I see your Aeolian mode and raise you the key of E flat, traditionally recognized since Beethoven's Third Symphony as the key of heroism!
I figured the Inspector needed more noir in his theme song than we've provided him with so far. So I did a variation on the Ripoff's melody ("variation" being the musical term for taking a melody and tweaking it) and made it jazzy. You may listen to the result here:

Also, while I'm at it, I'd like to shamelessly plug my channel and inform you that much of my other work is on Youtube under FluffyDestroyerOfMen. Enjoy!

Is that even possible? Beyond my capabilities, anyway, so someone else take a crack at it.

Or we can go the dubstep route.

So, I'm new to the forum, but I'm a music major, and I compose, so I could try making a little ditty for some part whether it's the main theme or whatever.

I've also put it to the guy who did the theme songs for "Robot, Ninja & Gay Guy" and "Smiley Town". He's kind of brilliant. We'll see if he takes up the challenge ;-) ~Trav

Link us when he's done with the theme. Is he making it spacey?

Whoa, he just sent me a draft. You guys are going to love it!! I'm pushing him to make it less electronic, because I thought that was the consensus, but it's still very sci-fi. In any case, I'll either have it in my vlog on Thursday (before the next episode of "Community") or I'll link to it from there. ~Trav
(he is also doing 3 versions, to represent the evolution of the theme song through the decades)

Fabulous. I hope it has lots of "weeeeeeeeeeeee-ooooooooooooooo-oooooooooooo" like the 1963 ripoff did.
And wasn't there a version of the theme tune when it was written and sung by Dennis Waterman when he made a guest appearance?
