Hey, it's so awesome to see you've found the forum! I can't believe we misheard Blorgons. It definitely sounds more robotic with an 'r', and far cooler if said in a Blorgon voice. Did you guys happen to come up with a race for the Inspector? There's been a bit of debate here over Space Master/Hour Baron etc. Do you see him as the same race as Boyish, and, therefore, immortal? I hope you manage to get NBC to produce your script, the world can always use more Inspector Spacetime. And legitimate canon. Boyish and the Inspector are not the same race. One thing that I think should be true to Dr. Who is that the Inspector is the last of his race (though possibly for a very different reason). It just makes for good story. Besides, there's got to be more than one race of Immortal in the universe. Maybe he's more "Highlander" than "Time Lord." Oh, yeah, after a good hour of Thesaurus work, we settled on Infinity Knight as the Inspector's race. It sounds cool, plus allows for a really neat multi-episode arc called "Infinite Night". :-) But again, who knows if Harmon and that gang have something else in mind, or have even given any thought to it... And as for the Phone Booth, we didn't decide concretely, and it's not in the script that we wrote, but we were thinking "SIVARTIS", as a way of putting our own stamp on it, but we haven't figured out what it means yet.

Should I have posted that somewhere else?

Should I have posted that somewhere else? Probably but since you were responding to someone else it doesn't matter. Is it alright if I go update the TVTropes page with that you have? We were also thinking that the Inspector was the last of his kind. The only possible exception would have been a "Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords" sort of scenario, with the Master making a return. But we're not even there yet since we're starting with 11. SIVARTIS: Systematic/Special InVestigative Apparatus for the Regulation of Time in Space

Hi, folks! I'm lifedoesntimitate, but really I'm Eric Loya, Travis Richey's writing partner. Travis just told me about this place, so I wanted to check it all out. Amazing!
For what it's worth, I absolutely love Systematic InVestigative Apparatus for Regulating Time in Space.

Lol too bad I just modified it to Special InVestigative Apparatus for the Regulation of Time in Space (cause I don't know which one I like better). But I think either one sounds pretty badass.

Just typing out loud here, but I personally like "systematic" better because it feels like it has a specific and official function... which obviously makes it mean more when it inevitably messes up. Also, I think the fewer non-acronymed words, the better, so since the second choice has an extra "the" and an extra "of," I prefer the first one. But, heck, that's just one guy's opinion.

I only change that because "for the Regulation of" sounds much more official/stuffy than "for Regulating". Stuffy acronyms don't seem to use the present progressive too often...I have no idea why.

Hi, everyone. This seems to be the introduce yourself thread, so I'm Cris. I love Community, and have watched since it premiered. Started watching Doctor Who last year after the LJ favorite character poll where so much good stuff was posted about Eleven who was up against Troy.
"Sooo Special InVestigative Apparatus for Regulating Time in Space?"
Just joined, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to respond, but sorry (really sorry), I just don't like this. I like the concept, but it's just too wordy. The acronym is hard to say as a word, and it doesn't have the same ring to it as TARDIS. It would be better if were 2 syllables so it'd sound similar to TARDIS when spoken (doesn't have to have the same letters though).
I love the concept you've got with what the words stand for. It's a good start, but I think it needs more work.
I have a couple quick ideas. Should I post them to the DARSIT thread or somewhere? Or is SIVARTIS a definite at this point?
Edit: Eh. I'll post them in the DARSIT thread. If we don't want to use them that's okay.

Hey, all, I'm Grindlebone, and I just found this place a few days ago, and I'm really enjoying the board so far. I don't get many chances to write DW/SI type stuff, so I'm looking forward to creating something with y'all.
