We have an ongoing list of associates at ailelie.dreamwidth.org/299947.html. We still need to divvy some of them up by Inspector and a few more need to be added. Most notable Mc Rae, who I think is a reference to Ace. I like the idea though so we should place her somewhere (she popped up on TVtropes but I think we can keep her). Edit: Jaime is apparently "MacMillan".

Also do we want Leela as Layla or Reena? She's a "jungle princess kickass" character so...take a vote I guess.
Also.2 we don't have to stick with just bizarro!DW associates, though I think it's easiest to start with those (or make some characters a combination of a few). I mean The Constable is kind of his own thing already. But for starters I'd like to solidify the list of DW parallel associates.

Agreed. We don't need bizarro versions for all the DW companions. Inventing new ones is just fine.
I do recommend that for all the associates is if you create one you should have the time period, with which inspector, as well as a real actress/actor that could have conceivable played the role at that time.
the more detail we add the better it looks.

Didn't Sandra Finch travel with the 10th inspector. Later stolen by DW for the one-shot with the statues.

Yes but I think the ratio between bizarro!DW associates and totally new ones should be like...80::20. It would just be much easier to keep track of everything and better when including other people in the IS inside jokes when the majourity of the associates relate to the companions in some way.

Maybe we have both Layla and Reena? And one of the few things the Ripoff did right was combining them into a single character?

Okay. So, for the 11th Inspector, since we're starting with his episodes--
For associates I have listed Constable Horace Wigglesworth, Brooke Rhapsody, Angie Lake, Aidan Davies
Despite Angie's name similarities to one A. Pond, her storyline and character, as interpreted by TVT, is very different. For instance, she's met with the Sergeant.
Also, someone shipped Angie/Aidan and said it was 'canon,' so Angie and Aidan likely travel around the same time.
Brooke is a mystery (and maybe more fun if kept that way? Everyone refuses to spoil those who haven't seen it yet? And if you have to ask, then you obviously not seen it?)
And Constable.
I think Britta probably got Abed an episode from the start of the 11th Inspector's run (she started him at the beginning of Cougerton Abbey, after all). So our first associate is probably the Constable. (Though the Inspector may meet Angie early on, either or both as a young child and an old woman, but doesn't actually start traveling with her until later on).
Does that make sense for all? Also, the Constable may (but not necessarily) have traveled with the 10th as well.

Yes, the Constable has been a pretty long-standing companion. He met the Inspector during his 10th Incarnation and has stayed with him through his metamorphosis.

One actress had to quit, but the writers loved her character too much so-- they made another character almost exactly just like her. ?

Don't forget Jeffrey. I made him up to be a Butt Monkey in my fic, but I'm kind of attached to him. I don't think he has a counterpart. He's the sixth Inspector's associate. And played by a young Harry Lennix.
